Awesome Entertainment!

The past week has been full of good fun. Friday night was Ween at Central Park: these guys pack a party and serenade the masses with every genre of music imaginable. Saturday evening was my first encounter with Brooklyn Bowl and I love it. Great food from Blue Ribbon and a rawkus stage and pit (with a fun boom box show by Javelin) with a backdrop of balls and lanes make this LEED-certified building a very happening spot. On Sunday I was treated to a dress rehearsal of BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON on Broadway and was so unbelievably excited to see it reach this zenith from the first time I ever heard Alaina talk about it 5 years ago. It has succeeded every time it has been mounted and I believe it will change perceptions of Broadway through its self-parody and razor wit. And it rocks.

And so rocks Pavement, who I finally had the pleasure of seeing last night in Central Park. It began pouring about in the second song and they were forced to take a lightning break, but sometimes a concert can be better wet. I really enjoyed this show, probably as much as any rock concert I’ve ever seen, and confirmed that this band has a bit of magic to their sound that, even in crooked rain, can feel enchanted.
